Guna (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh police registered a case against 22 named persons and some unknown persons for allegedly pelting stones on police and district administration team in Guna district, an official said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Vishnupura locality under the jurisdiction of Fatehgarh police station in Guna district on Tuesday. The accused were booked under the relevant sections of riots, obstruction in government work and vandalising vehicles, the police said.
Inspector General of Police (IG, Gwalior Zone) Arvind Saxena told ANI, “A dispute between two groups occurred in Guna district on July 22 following which one party lodged a complaint against the other party. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against the second party, they were arrested and sent to jail.”
On Tuesday (July 23), some people gathered in support of the first party and demanded that there were encroachments made by the second accused party who were in jail and it should be removed, IG Saxena said.
“Since the demand was rational, therefore in view of it, when the measurement was done, two shops were found which were built in the encroached area. After that, the team of revenue and district administration with the help of the police personnel, freed the encroachment area. Later, some people from the village and some anti-social elements gathered and said that the house of the accused party which was legal should also be dismantled,” the officer said.
The concerned officers of the district administration, who had the complete documents, had clearly denied citing that it was a legal house, Saxena said.
“After that, the anti-social elements present on the spot started pelting stones at the police and the district administration team. A vehicle of the Nagar Palika (Municipality) was also damaged. Apart from this, some police personnel have also been injured in the incident. The police have identified 22 persons in the incident and registered a case against all of them and some unknown persons under relevant sections of riot, obstruction in government work and vandalising vehicles,” the officer said.
“No one will be spared in the matter. Strict action will be taken against all the anti-social elements who tried to take advantage of the situation without any reason. Efforts are on to nab the accused,” he added. (ANI)
