Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 15 (ANI): The Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, on Monday visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) facilities and said that the company has a huge role to play in achieving Make-in-India dream in the defence sector.
While addressing HAL’s top management, Seth assured the public sector aerospace and defence major of the government’s support and called upon the company to ensure that various challenges on design and development, production and delivery fronts are addressed in time to contribute to achieving ‘Viksit Bharat’ as envisaged by the government.

HAL made the presentation, covering its product profile (the present and the future), current ROH (Repair and Overhaul), aircraft upgrades and modifications, avionics developments, exports, engine production, manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, indigenization measures, civil MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) initiatives and support given to various ISRO platforms.

Later, the Defence MoS visited LCA Tejas and Helicopter Divisions and evinced keen interest in these activities undertaken by HAL.

C B Ananthakrishnan, CMD (Addl. Charge), thanked Sanjay Seth for the support given by the government and said that HAL has taken proactive measures to overcome challenges in different areas of its operations. HAL Directors and CEOs were present on the occasion.
Earlier on July 11, Sanjay Seth addressed the senior officials of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) and Gun and Shell Factory (GSF), Kashipur, during his maiden visit to Kolkata and emphasised AWEIL’s achievements and future prospects as a premier Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU).
The Minister highlighted the need to improve performance, efficiency, and skills to compete with both the government PSUs and private industries.
Sanjay Seth urged AWEIL’s skilled, qualified, and experienced workforce to maximize the use of all human resources and collaborate with associated establishments to achieve success in line with the nation’s aspirations.
The visit underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Defence to bolster India’s defence capabilities and promote self-reliance in defence production. (ANI)
