Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 16 (ANI): Raising serious concern over the public health conditions in the state, YSRCP former MLA Monditoka Jaganmohan Rao criticised the TDP government led by CM Chandrababu Naidu for its lack of action and focus on public health issues.
Speaking to the media at the party central office here on Tuesday, the former MLA said the health conditions in our state are rapidly declining and the number of diarrhoea cases is increasing drastically every day. This is a clear indication of the government’s inability to provide even the most basic necessity–safe drinking water, he added.
He further accused the TDP government of prioritising political vendettas over the well-being of the people. “Instead of addressing these pressing health concerns, the government is busy targeting YSRCP workers,” he said. The former MLA said former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy brought revolutionary changes in the education and medical sectors during his previous tenure, prioritising free healthcare for everyone.
He said Chandrababu did not set up a single government medical college during his tenure and reminded them that, due to the negligence and failure of the current TDP coalition government, the opening of five new medical colleges this year has been stalled. The former MLA said TDP betrayed medical students by reversing it’s stand on self-finance seats in government medical colleges. He said that although the TDP promised to abolish the self-finance system while in opposition, they continued it once in power.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday accused the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government of looting natural resources, creating litigation, and exploiting lands and minerals in the state during his tenure.
He also claimed that forests were deforested under their administration. “We have identified records of their corruption,” he stated.
Naidu alleged that, across the state, a lot of urban lands were looted. Assigned lands were distributed to non-beneficiaries, and they had some modus operandi to loot these lands.
He mentioned that Tollywood director Ramanaidu was granted land in Visakhapatnam during the TDP regime. After YSRCP came into power, they allegedly permitted the land to be converted from studio to residential use illegally at the district level. Additionally, lands belonging to Sarada Peetam were also looted. (ANI)
