Gandatwisa (Tripura) [India], July 16 (ANI): After Tripura’s Gandatwisa witnessed a sudden disruption following the demise of a minor due to the actions of some miscreants, the incident prompted a swift response from the Tripura Police and security personnel, who were deployed immediately to manage the situation.
Due to their prompt action, the situation has been brought under control, and the miscreants responsible for the heinous act have been apprehended. The swift justice has helped ease tensions in the community.
Today, signs of normalcy have returned to Gandatwisa. Shops and markets are open, people are seen attending to their daily routines, and government officials are back at work. The community’s resilience, coupled with the decisive actions of the authorities, has played a crucial role in restoring peace and stability to the area.
In the wake of the incident, Tripura’s Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha assured all-round support to the victims and the family of the deceased minor. He also emphasized the need for thorough action to bring the culprits to justice and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
A day before, Tinku Roy, Minister for Social Welfare, and Subal Bhowmik, a senior BJP leader, visited Gandatwisa, and interacted with the affected residents, providing necessary assistance and support to help restore normalcy. Financial aid and other relevant support have been extended to those affected, aiming to mitigate the impact of the tragedy.
On July 13, the Dhalai district administration imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in the Gandatwisa subdivision, formerly known as Gandacherra after a person was allegedly attacked and killed by four miscreants, officials said.
According to officials, four persons were arrested and sent to judicial custody in connection with the incident on July 12.
“All four people who are responsible for the death. They have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The person who was attacked died on Friday (July 12). The mortal remains were brought back. Considering the law and order situation, we have promulgated prohibitory orders Section 144 since Friday morning,” Dhalai District Magistrate Saju Vaheed had said.
