Ludhiana (Punjab) [India], September 4 (ANI): A six-year-old girl from Ludhiana, Anayasha Budhiraja, has made her mark in the Guinness World Records by writing two bilingual books related to Sanskrit shlokas.
The books, titled “My Journey of Learning 100 Shlokas” and “How to Learn 100 Shlokas Easily,” have earned her this prestigious recognition.
Anayasha, a first-grade student, is the daughter of Dr Sanchit Budhiraja, a gastroenterologist, and Dr Ravika Kanishk Budhiraja, a dermatologist. She also has a three-year-old sister.
Anayasha’s passion for learning Sanskrit shlokas began at the age of eight months, inspired by her grandmother, who introduced her to the Shri Hanuman Chalisa.
Speaking about her journey, Sanchit Budhiraja shared that their household does not permit television, which has cultivated a love for books in their children. He mentioned that his wife, Dr Ravika, was in the process of writing a book on skin diseases when she noticed their daughter’s growing interest in Sanskrit shlokas and encouraged her to author these books.
“When she was very young, we could see that she was picking up really well. We started teaching her shlokas. She was just five years old when she learnt 100 shlokas. All the shlokas she had learnt, she penned down in a book. It has a lot of illustrations and drawings,” Dr Budhiraja said.
Anayasha had previously received recognition in the Book of World Records and aspired to achieve a Guinness World Record, which she accomplished through dedication and adherence to the required guidelines.
Dr Ravika Budhiraja added that their family has a strong religious background.
Whenever Anayasha visited her grandparents, they would recite the Shri Hanuman Chalisa to her as a lullaby. Noticing her daughter’s keen interest in shlokas, Dr Ravika supported her in developing this interest further. She emphasized the importance of connecting children with their cultural roots while ensuring they progress in life with a strong sense of religion and culture.
Speaking of her achievement, Anayasha said, “I did all this through hard work and dedication. (ANI)
