New Delhi [India], September 30 (ANI): Union Health Minister JP Nadda Monday said that the huge footfall at hospitals in India is not comparable with most of the countries across the globe and said that the situation of doctors is entirely different from those in western countries.
President Droupadi Murmu, along with Union Minister JP Nadda, on Monday attended the 10th Convocation Ceremony of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences, Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, at Bharat Mandapam in the National Capital.
“…It is true that education is a right. But we must realise that professional education is a privilege which we get. Not many of us get the opportunity to pursue such professional education. The government spends about Rs 30-35 lakh per medical student per year for providing such professional education,” JP Nadda said while addressing the gathering.
“It is not only our calibre and talent but the entire ecosystem around you which is responsible for enabling you to avail this exceptional opportunity. It is your hardwork and the dedication complemented with the support of your parents, teachers, technicians and even the support staff working in the hostels and the canteens which has culminated you in making a doctor like you, ” JP Nadda said to the students.
He called on the students to give back the selfless and dedicated service to the nation.
“In this moment of joy, you must look back and acknowledge the contributions of each and everyone. It is now for you to give back to society the selfless and dedicated service to the nation,” he said in his address.
The Union Health Minister also spoke briefly about the condition of doctors and the huge footfall (of patients) visiting the hospitals.
“The situation of doctors is entirely different from those in western countries. The huge footfall at hospitals in India is not comparable with most of the countries across the globe.
“Not many can understand and comprehend the kind of patient care, research, and and innovations our doctors are involved in.It is we, who have to realise and recognise the kind of work we are doing,” JP Nadda said. (ANI)
