Kaithal (Haryana) [India], October 5 (ANI): Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala cast his vote for Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 at a polling station in Kaithal on Saturday. He said that the decision taken by Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for the Chief Minister’s face would be accepted by everyone.
Randeep Singh Surjewala said, “I want to appeal to the people of Haryana to come out and cast their votes. This vote is for change. People are tired of 10 years of corruption, condition of farmers, youth, wrestlers and jawans has deteriorated. A revolutionary change would be noticed. The only challenge is development of Kaithal. Having the ambition to be Chief Minister is not wrong. We will accept the decision taken by Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for CM face.”
He said that the CM candidate should have vision to bring change in Haryana and prosperity in the lives of farmers.
Earlier in a post on X he said, “Today, before the voting for Haryana Assembly elections, I prayed at the historic Gyaarah Rudri temple in Kaithal, the holy land of Kapisthal, and received the blessings of the Lord. This great festival of democracy is going to be successful after voting of all of you.”
BJP’s Leela Ram, AAP’s Satbir Singh Goyat, JJP’s Sandeep Garhi and Congress candidate Aditya Surjewala are contesting from the Kaithal seat.
After casting his vote, Congress candidate from Kaithal assembly seat, Aditya Surjewala son of Randeep Singh Surjewala, called on people of the state to come out and cast their votes.
Aditya Surjewala said, “I want to make an appeal to the people of the state to come out and cast their votes. Elections are held once in 5 years but this is the most important thing for democracy. I urge you to vote for the Congress party, for development and justice. There was a problem in the control unit of the EVM which has now been rectified.”
He further said that he had studied in Canada and he wanted to implement the perspective he got there to bring a change.
He further said, “Since three generations, we are connected with Kaithal. I wish to serve Kaithal for the next 50 years.”
Voting began for 90 assembly seats in Haryana on Saturday and saw a voter turnout of 22.70 percent per cent till 11 AM, the Election Commission of India said.
As per the data shared by the ECI, Palwal recorded the highest poll percentage of 27.94 per cent, followed by Jind 27.20 per cent, Mewat 25. 65 per cent, Yamunanagar 25.56 per cent, and Ambala 25.50per cent, till 9 AM.

The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP won 40 of the 90 seats, forming a coalition government with the JJP, which won 10 seats. The Congress secured 31 seats. However, JJP later broke out of the coalition. (ANI)
