Rohtak (Haryana) [India], October 5 (ANI): Thwarting any rumours of infighting with the Congress party, former Haryana Chief Minister and party leader Bhupinder Hooda said that the decision of who will become the Chief Minister if Congress wins the assembly elections will ultimately rest with the high command.
Speaking to ANI, Bhupinder Hooda said, “There is no infighting which is happening, Congress has their rules, they will look at the elected representatives and then the high command would take the decision.”
He further expressed confidence that the Congress would be forming the government with a thumping majority.
“There is a wave in favour of Congress, BJP is going, Congress is coming. The BJP can’t say anything else other than claiming they will win a majority, but we need to see what the people are saying. Congress will win with a thumping majority,” he said.
He claimed that due to corruption, unemployment and increased prices, there is an anti-incumbency sentiment among the people.
“The government is a corrupt government, they have made unemployment the number 1 problem, also everything is more expensive. Employment opportunities has been shattered,” he added.
Hooda is contesting from Garhi-Sampla-Kiloi constituency against Manju (BJP), Praveen (AAP), Sushila Devi (JJP) and Krishan (INLD).
Earlier, the former CM and his son, Congress MP Deepender Hooda cast their vote at a polling booth in Rohtak. The former Chief Minister also visited various polling booths across Haryana and met with the workers.
He urged the people to exercise their right to vote and cast their votes peacefully. “I appeal to people to come out of their houses and cast their votes peacefully. According to the reports, people are voting in good numbers. Congress is going to form its government here,” he said.
The state recorded 61 pc voter turnout a off 5 PM. The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8. (ANI)
