Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand) [India], November 14 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the famous Jauljibi Mela-2024 on Thursday, calling it a “priceless heritage” for Uttarakhand, according to a statement from the state government.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 18 schemes worth Rs 64.47 crore, which includes 13 inaugurations of Rs 29.65 crore and five foundation stones of Rs 34.72 crore and observed various products being made by women self-help groups, added the statement.
Chief Minister Dhami said that Jauljibi Mela is a priceless heritage for the state, which has been promoting mutual harmony between India, Tibet, Nepal, and the border areas for centuries. This fair serves to preserve our rich traditions. It has had cultural ties with Nepal and Tibet for centuries, read the official statement further.

“Our relations are getting stronger under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The spiritual journey between Kedarnath and Pashupatinath has also strengthened the relations between the two nations. This fair also works to increase economic relations between India and Nepal. This fair is a big medium to provide a platform for small traders, farmers and artisans to showcase their products, said CM Dhami.
This fair also plays an important role in promoting many types of medicines. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the government is working with full commitment under the Vibrant Village Program for the overall development of the border areas. The villages which were earlier called the last villages, the Prime Minister has changed this concept and called these villages the first villages of the country.

The Chief Minister said that after the visit of PM Modi to Adi Kailash, traffic has increased rapidly in this area. Compared to last year, this time more than 10 thousand people have visited Adi Kailash. This will give an opportunity to these areas of ours to move forward economically. To increase the income of farmers, the State Government has approved the State Millet Mission to promote Mandwa, Jhingoora and other local products.
Traditional farming is being promoted. It has been decided to build 18 thousand cluster based polyhouses in the state. Expansion in road connectivity has made it easier for farmers to transport their produce to the market. The Chief Minister said that modern roads, tunnels and bridges are being constructed in border areas.

The development of border areas is among the top priorities of the government. Many action plans have been approved for the development of these areas. Under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission, 16 mythological temples are being developed in the first phase.
The Chief Minister announced on this occasion that a motor road will be constructed from Makkana to Sekla. Security wall work will be done in the disaster-affected area Lumti Tok Bagicha Bagad. A primary health centre will be constructed in Mawani Rawani. A mini stadium will be constructed in Tejam. Check dams will be constructed in Teenkhol Dhungatoli and Panda. (ANI)
