Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 24 (ANI): BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Saturday stated that it has become clear after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections that both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are not capable of forming a government on their own. He further added that the people of Maharashtra have rejected Congress’ false propaganda, leading to the party’s loss of credibility.
“The people of Maharashtra and Jharkhand have given a very clear verdict. One thing is certain after the 2024 general election: neither the Congress nor the BJP can form a government on their own,” KTR said.
Slamming the Congress party over the Maharashtra election results, the BRS Working President emphasised that Congress has lost its credibility.
“Maharashtra having a border of almost 1,000 kilometres with Telangana has also had an impact on the Congress party because the Congress party has failed miserably in fulfilling its promises in Telangana… Today the people of Maharashtra have rejected the false propaganda and lies and deception of the Congress. They believed the party that promised only Rs 1500 per month and rejected the Congress party that promised almost Rs 3,000 per month to show you that credibility matters and the Congress has lost its credibility…” he added.
Notably, the ruling Mahayuti alliance won the Maharashtra assembly polls, while the JMM-led alliance returned to power in Jharkhand. The ruling parties also performed well in the by-polls for 48 seats and two Lok Sabha seats across 15 constituencies.
In Maharashtra, the BJP led the Mahayuti alliance to a smashing victory carrying its allies – Shiv Sena and NCP – with its momentum.
While the BJP has won 132 seats, Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has won 57 seats, and the NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, won 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly seats.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morch won 34 seats with its allies winning 22 seats. Among JMM’s allies, Congress won 16 seats, RJD 4 and CPI-ML two.
BJP won 21 seats and its allies AJSU, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and JD-U one each.
This is the first time that an incumbent government which completed five years, won an election in Jharkhand. (ANI)
