New Delhi [India], August 29 (ANI): The BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) held a crucial meeting on Thursday to discuss the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. During the meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussions were held on all 90 assembly seats in the state. Out of these, candidates for 55 seats have been finalized.
However, the BJP will announce the names of its candidates gradually rather than all at once.
The meeting, which took place at the BJP headquarters, was attended by key leaders including BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, OP Dhankar, Satya Narayan Jatia, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, K. Laxman, Nayab Singh Saini, Sudha Yadav, Vanathi Srinivasan, Anil Vij, Bhupender Yadav, Biplab Deb, Satish Poonia, Surendra Nagar, and Dharmendra Pradhan.
Earlier, senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, had convened a meeting at JP Nadda’s residence, where they discussed the names of potential candidates. This core group meeting included Dharmendra Pradhan, Manohar Lal Khattar, Nayab Singh Saini, and the President of Haryana BJP. Prior to this, Dharmendra Pradhan had also met with Haryana BJP leaders at his residence for further discussions.
The final decision on the remaining 35 seats will be made in a follow-up meeting on Friday between the Haryana core committee and the BJP President. The party has decided to roll out the candidate names in phases as the election preparations intensify.
Voting for 90 seats of the Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October, 1.
