New Delhi [India], July 9 (ANI): The Rouse Avenue court on Tuesday rejected Delhi’s former Health Minister Satyendar Jain’s plea seeking four weeks interim bail.
He sought interim bail on his wife’s medical condition. She had an injury in her right foot.
Special judge Rakesh Siyal dismissed the plea filed on behalf of Jain. He was arrested in a money laundering case on May 30, 2022.
Advocate Gagan Minocha and Mayank Jain appeared for Satyendar Jain.
Jain’s plea was opposed by the counsel for ED.
It was stated that Jain’s wife Poonam Jain, who is also an accused in the present money laundering case, had suffered a twist in her right foot resulting in significant swelling and severe pain.
On diagnosis, it was revealed that she has suffered a fracture on her right foot and a cast for four (4) weeks had been applied, the plea stated.
It was also stated that the wife of the applicant, in the absence of the applicant who is in Judicial Custody, has also been solely managing all affairs at home front as well as various litigations against the husband. She finds herself incapacitated due to her current medical condition as there is no one else in the family who can manage all affairs.
It was also mentioned that Jain’s younger daughter is also not well.
The wife of the applicant, apart from taking care of herself and managing other affairs on account of her present situation is also unable to take care of her younger daughter, the plea said.
There is no one other in the family for her support as the other daughter of the
petitioner is married, staying at her matrimonial home and has a seven months child to take care, it added.
It was submitted that during this time, presence of the applicant with his family is of utmost importance and his presence cannot be substituted with any relatives or acquaintances. (ANI)
