Atishi further said that the control room has kept a strict vigil on all the places with severe waterlogging across the city through CCTV.
“The ground staff is also constantly inspecting the places with possible waterlogging. Immediate steps are being taken to remove waterlogging from the places where complaints are coming in. The IMD further advised people to avoid going to areas that face water logging problem often. It also added, “Check for traffic congestion on your route and be updated with weather warnings.”
Atishi on June 30, announced a Rs 10 lakh compensation amount to the kin of people who lost their lives due to drowning amid waterlogging due to heavy rainfall in the national capital.
In an order to the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Revenue, Atishi said, “It has been reported that there have been several deaths due to drowning on June 28, after the extreme rainfall of 228mm. It is hereby directed that the families of all those who lost their lives shall be provided a compensation of Rs 10 Lakhs.”
