Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 30 (ANI): RTI activist and one of the petitioners in the MUDA scam case, Snehamayi Krishna, responded to the FIRs registered against him, asserting that he had been facing a series of false complaints following his petition.
Speaking to ANI on Monday, Krishna stated that there are over 23 cases filed against him, with almost all being baseless accusations. He noted that he had been proven innocent in eight cases, while investigations have shown nine others to be false.
“There are more than 23 cases booked against me; almost all are false complaints. In eight cases, I have been proven innocent in court and in nine cases, the police investigation has proved that the complaints are false,” he said.
Krishna criticised the state government, claiming that these cases were intended to hinder his activism. He referenced a specific complaint filed at Nanjanagudu police station, alleging harassment and an attempted attack on a woman and said that he was in Mysuru at the time of the alleged incident.
“To curb my fight, they (the state government) are filing these false cases but my fight will continue. One complaint was filed in Nanjanagudu Police Station, saying I harassed and tried to attack a lady. When you check my caller register, I was in Mysuru at that time. In the complaint, they said that the incident took place near Nanjanagudu Circle. There are CCTV cameras that can be checked. There is no new FIR against me; they raise old issues when I start my fighting; new cases and complaints may arise. Ready to fight them,” he added.
Speaking on the MUDA scam case, Krishna said that he had called for comprehensive investigations into alleged corruption involving over Rs 5,000 crore related to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
He also highlighted the extensive corruption that has persisted since 2015 and requested both a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry and an Enforcement Directorate (ED) inquiry into the matter.
Krishna emphasised that Siddaramaiah’s government serves as a prime example of the corruption that has plagued MUDA and pointed to the irregular allotment of MUDA sites.
“There is huge corruption in MUDA. In this background, we have made a request seeking a CBI inquiry, and also there is more than Rs 5,000 crore of corruption involved in the MUDA issue. That’s why I have asked for an ED inquiry into this. Siddaramaiah is just an example; since 2015, there has been much corruption in the case. That’s why I have asked for all MUDA site allotment scams that have been allotted in a 50/50 ratio. We have filed for CBI and ED inquiry seeking inquiry; we are expecting it may come to a hearing soon. We have also asked for a CBI inquiry, and now Lokayukta is doing an inquiry into the MUDA case,” he said.
Earlier on Saturday, an advocate had filed a complaint with the Chief Vigilance Officer of ED, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Director of State Intelligence of Karnataka to investigate the financial background of all three complaints, including Snehamayi Krishna, who had approached the Lokayukta Court, the People’s Representative Court and the Governor in the MUDA scam case against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
