Agartala (Tripura) [India], September 7 (ANI): In a joint operation, the Agartala GRP (Government Railway Police) and RPF (Railway Protection Force) conducted a search based on secret information at the Agartala railway station. During the raid, the police seized 100 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup, which were likely being transported from outside the state via train, said police on Friday.
The seized items have been marked as unclaimed and confiscated, as the authorities have not yet identified the individuals responsible for the illegal consignment. The Agartala GRP has launched an investigation to determine the ownership of these contraband substances. The market value of the seized Eskuf cough syrup is estimated to be Rs 21,120, according to police.
More details into the matter are awaited.
Earlier in August, in a crackdown on drug trafficking, the Agartala GRP and the RPF seized 33 kilogrammes of dried cannabis worth Rs 2.31 lakh that was suspected to be destined for another state by train, said police.
The cannabis, which was found unclaimed, has been seized as part of the operation. The Agartala GRP has initiated an investigation to identify the individuals or groups responsible for this illegal consignment, said police.
The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is approximately Rs 2.31 lakh, said police. (ANI)
