Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 17 (ANI): Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge inaugurated the Electronic Industries Association of India’s 13th Strategic Electronics Summit in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The summit will be held on July 17 and 18 at Hotel Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru.
“ELCINA’s 13th Strategic Electronics Summit (SES) – Defence and Aerospace was inaugurated in the city today by Hon’ble Minister of, IT and BT, Science and Technology, Shri Priyank Kharge. The summit will be held on 17th & 18th July 2024 at Hotel Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru,” as per a press release from Priyank Kharge’s office.
SES is a well-recognised and valuable platform for showcasing equipment and technology for the Army, Air Force, Security & Surveillance, Navy and Space sectors and has consistently attracted large presence of all stakeholders. The summit also has an exhibition of world of cutting-edge technologies, innovation and a vibrant Indian Strategic Electronics Industry, as per the release.
Speaking at the event, Minister Priyank Kharge said “Karnataka is a not just the leader in Information Technology (IT), but also in deep tech, nano technology and biotechnology. In the electronics sector, Karnataka has paved the path for India’s core strength in Research & Development and manufacturing, specifically in Aerospace and Defence sector”
“We have the Aerospace and defence Policy 2022-27 which aims to transform the aerospace and defence sectors through INR 10,000 crore investment in infrastructure, including testing facilities, and extensive skill development programs training 100,000 individuals. It prioritizes research in AI, machine learning, and advanced materials, alongside simplifying regulations with 500 crore incentives to foster ease of doing business. Over 200 partnerships aim to enhance collaboration, while promoting sustainability targets a 30% carbon footprint reduction by 2027 through indigenous technologies and green practices. Additionally, GoK also has set up a CoE across the State to boost accelerator support in the space of Aerospace and Defence Ecosystem” he added
“Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) is the largest and oldest Association serving the Electronic Hardware Industry since 1967. Their objective is to promote manufacturing and business expansion in the Electronic System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector,” as per the release. (ANI)
