Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 6 (ANI): RS Bharathi, DMK Organisational Secretary, responded to the row over a school conducting ‘Spiritual Awakening Classes’ in Chennai.
The DMK Secretary said that RSS group couldn’t ‘digest’ the DMK government and tried to put a stamp in Tamil Nadu. “RSS group couldn’t digest the DMK government and tried to put their stamp in Tamil Nadu. Yesterday, am organisation have made a religious event in government school where our Chief Minister have noted and gave a statement on it.” said the organisational secretary.
Bharati further said that the School Education minister has also released a statement that no such religious events will be conducted in Tamil Nadu again and that in one or two days the facts of the incident will be clear.
Bharati was responding to ‘Spiritual Awakening Classes’ being conducted in Ashok Nagar Government Girls Higher Secondary School by an NGO known as Paramporul Foundation. After a video of the purported spiritual session conducted was posted on social media, DYFI and SFI cadres protested against the classes and questioned the state government and the education department.
Bharati also criticised the Tamil Nadu Governor.
“Now even after his three years of tenure as Governor, RN Ravi is sitting still as governor. RN Ravi is working like a daily wage governor in Tamil Nadu.” he said.
Earlier Chief Minister MK Stalin responded released a statement on X saying that new guidelines will be formulated for regulating various programs in schools so that all students in the state will be getting progressive-scientific ideas.
“I have decreed to formulate and issue new guidelines for regulating various programs in schools in the state so that all our school children who are the future generation of Tamilnadu, get progressive-scientific ideas and lifestyles. Individual progress, ethical living and sound ideas for social development should be inculcated in the hearts of the students. Over the past three years, I have consistently emphasized the importance of education and the need to develop scientific thinking at numerous events. Science is the way to progress!” he said in a post on X.
Anbil Mahesh, the state school education minister also responded that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
“Based on our Department’s Principal Secretary, we have formed a committee based on that. We will make an inquiry on who all are involved in this, how it happened, and who gave the permission, everything will be enquired. Based on that, we will take action within 1-2 days”, the minister said. (ANI)
