Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 1 (ANI): A fresh spell of rain lashed Hyderabad city on Tuesday morning.
Visuals showed commuters in raincoats navigating the rain-soaked roads.
The Air Quality Index for most of the parts of the city remained satisfactory as of Tuesday morning.
The AQI for Sanathnagar was recorded at 65, for Ramachandrapuram it was 79, for the ECIL Kapra area it was 77, and for IITH Kandi the AQI was recorded at 75 — all in the satisfactory category.
Earlier, on Monday, the IMD had issued a thunderstorm alert for 17 districts of the state.
The capital city of Telangana witnessed a sudden downpour on Sunday, catching off-guard many people who had ventured out for a holiday outing.
The rain did provide much-needed relief from the heat that dominated the city earlier.
As per recent reports, India’s monsoon rainfall this year was its highest since 2020, with above-average precipitation for three consecutive months, helping the country recover from last year’s drought, the weather department said on Monday.
Rainfall over the country from June through September was 107.6 per cent of its long period average, the highest since 2020, according to the India Meteorological Department. (ANI)
