Uttarakhand govt to provoide subsidy on electricity bills: CM Dhami – World News Network

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 24 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said that the decision to subsidize electricity bills has been taken, as per a CMO release.
According to the press release, the decision to provide subsidy has been taken with the aim of providing relief to the economically weaker and middle-class families of the state.
CM Dhami said that this will reduce the financial burden on the citizens of the state and encourage proper consumption of energy and consumers of mountainous snow-clad areas will get special relief.
On Saturday, Dhami announced that the Uttarakhand government will offer a 50 per cent subsidy on electricity bills for consumers using up to 100 units per month
In the high Himalayan regions, this limit will be extended to 200 units.
Dhami said that the Uttarakhand government is committed to providing economic security to the weaker sections of society.
Earlier, Dhami approved funds for various development works in the state, including reconstruction of the motor road in Champawat and the expansion of Pantnagar Airport.
The CM Dhami-led BJP government of Uttarakhand has also decided to give the benefit of a 4 per cent dearness allowance to the employees working in corporations, bodies, and authorities from January 1, 2024.
Under the Chief Minister’s announcement, an amount of Rs 531.68 lakh has been approved for the reconstruction and improvement of the Chhinkachhina-Roulmel motor road in Pati block of Champawat district.
An amount of Rs 314.54 lakh has been approved for the asphalting work of the Bangsheel-Goldhar motor road under the state plan in the Dhanaulti assembly constituency of Tehri Garhwal district.
Under the state plan, a cost of Rs 581.23 lakh has been approved for the improvement and asphalting from km 1 to 5 to connect the Nyaya Panchayat headquarters in Ustoli in the Ghat development block of Tharali assembly constituency of Chamoli district.
Under the Chief Minister’s announcement, approval has been given to name the Manoli Daboli Motor Road after Martyr Assistant Commandant Charu Chandra Pathak.
For the expansion of Pantnagar Airport, financial approval of Rs 24 lakh ninety-two thousand sixty-six has been given for the appointment of a DPR consultant to prepare DPR for four-lane work from 43.446 km to 93.226 km up to Rampur Kathgodam under NH-8 and realignment of 54+500 to 61+300 km i.e. 7 km under NH-87.
