New Delhi [India], September 26 (ANI): Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating his plantation drive ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, saying we are fortunate to have inspiring leadership.
He planted a sapling under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plantation drive, ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ at Soochna Bhawan at the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters on this occasion, he said, “We are fortunate to have inspiring leadership. From the ramparts of Red Fort, PM Modi had inspired us to keep our surroundings clean. In this context, we took a pledge at Soochna Bhawan at the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign,”
He also stated that the campaign is already seeing results with several plantation drives across the country.
Further highlighting the achievements of NDA government, he said that India is doing well in every sector and the credit for it goes to the leadership.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also took part in a series of events under “Swachhta Hi Sewa” campaign at Soochna Bhawan hosted by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
The minister administered oath to officers and staff of the ministry of information and broadcasting at Soochna Bhawan where participants pledged to promote cleanliness and sustainable practices within their spheres of influence.
Notably, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign was inaugurated by PM Modi on June 5, World Environment Day this year.
Under this campaign, he urged people to plant a sapling in the upcoming days as a tribute to their mothers. He also requested participants to share a picture of themselves planting the sapling using the hashtags #Plant4Mother.
The PM highlighted the need to protect the environment and shared his tree-planting experience, encouraging others to follow suit.
PM Modi further highlighted the collective efforts made by India over the past decade, which have increased the nation’s forest cover. (ANI)
